Many families enjoy special traditions during the holiday season and those traditions serve as opportunities for building stronger relationships among family members as they anticipate, enjoy and remember. Our family is no exception. We too have traditions that we enjoy as a family. The one I would like to share with you in this blog is one that my kiddos especially enjoy. And my mom is the one who makes it all possible. That this tradition is linked to a grandparent makes it even more meaningful.
You see, every Thanksgiving, my mom sends us an incredible turkey from Pfaeltzer. These turkeys are very tasty. They arrive frozen, packed in ice...dry ice. My sons discovered years ago that if you put dry ice in a plastic bottle and some water, then screw on the lid tightly, you can enjoy a huge and amazing explosion. I am rather safety and neighbor conscious, so usually I try to dispose of the dry ice as soon as possible--before they find it. But once again this year, the boys beat me to the UPS man and acquired the dry ice before I could stop them. Here's the footage.... I tried to hang onto my parental demeanor, but it was just too fun. The 2 liter bottles are the best.
